Portfolio Description

NGS’s focus in the next five years 2023-2027 is to develop into a strong Development Organisation. NGS will develop an Institutional Development Plan that will clearly spell out the institutional development needs and priorities. Key among these are; a) strategic leadership and corporate governance; to strengthen board oversight and function; NGS will develop a board charter that will guide board members in the execution of their mandate. Legally, NGS is a fully registered NGO with a mandate to operate in Uganda, however, to further strengthen its mandate, a five-year strategic plan is being developed, with the participation of board members, management team, and management advisors. Further consultations is being made with target groups to ensure that the strategic plan speaks to their priority needs and aspirations. Various policies are being developed to guide the operations of the organization, already finalized are the finance policy, and the Human resources policy. b) Human Resource Management;

The organization will focus on employing competent professional staff in the various programmatic areas, provide job training, and as well as put in place a performance management system, to improve accountability and commitment towards the organization’s strategic mission. c) financial sustainability; In order to achieve the key strategic objectives, there is a need for adequate resource financing to enable the organization to start up its operations and move towards scaling up the various interventions to fulfill the mission. NGS seeks funding support from national and international donors/partners in Uganda and abroad; NGS also seeks technical assistance from individuals, organizations, government agencies, communities, etc, to implement various programs and projects. We believe together, we can contribute toward the transformation and empowerment of women, youth, and the communities of Northern Uganda.
