The Visit of His Grace Archbishop Emeritus John Baptist Odama to Northlight Green Services Limited

Northlight Green Services Limited was deeply honored to receive His Grace, Archbishop Emeritus John Baptist Odama of the Gulu Archdiocese, on 11 January 2026, at our Dragon Fruit Learning Centre.

The visit, which was accompanied by Father Eric Justin Uma of Holy Rosary Parish, Gulu, followed an earlier engagement on 9 January 2026 by officials from the Gulu Archdiocese, including Reverend Sister Hellen Ayaa and Kevin Lapat. These visits were driven by a shared interest in gaining first-hand insight into the work of Northlight Green Services, particularly our climate-adaptive dragon fruit initiative.

During the visit, His Grace and the delegation were taken through the practical aspects of dragon fruit cultivation, highlighting its resilience to climate variability, high nutritional value, and growing potential to transform household incomes. The experience provided a tangible demonstration of how innovative agricultural practices can contribute to sustainable livelihoods and food security in Northern Uganda.

The delegation was warmly received and oriented by Ms. Jennifer Okusia, Executive Director of Northlight Green Services Limited, who shared the organisation’s vision and ongoing efforts in promoting climate-smart agriculture. She emphasized the role of dragon fruit farming as a practical learning model that supports environmental stewardship, income diversification, and community resilience.

Northlight Green Services is grateful for His Grace’s encouragement and recognition of the Dragon Fruit Learning Centre as a meaningful platform for promoting healthy living and holistic community development. Such engagements reaffirm our commitment to building inclusive, practical learning solutions that work with existing ecosystems while empowering communities to adapt and thrive in the face of climate change.
